Operation Encompass is a police and education partnership to support children early information safeguarding partnership enabling schools to offer immediate support to children experiencing domestic abuse. It means that our safeguarding team receive a notification if police have attended a domestic abuse incident where there are children related to either of the adult parties involved. We will not approach you or your child directly with this information but we will keep an extra close-eye on the child/children in school and may have an informal check-in to explore life at home more broadly. We would always encourage you to reach out and tell us if you are struggling with domestic abuse so we can signpost you for more support. We know children are significantly impacted by all forms of domestic abuse and need trusted adults to have awareness and training to support them if needed.
