Our Academy Aims
Organisation of Teaching Groups
The children are taught mainly in mixed ability classes and from Year 2 are split
into ability groups for maths. Each year group is divided into two classes. In the
Foundation Stage (for Reception children) the children are taught in an open plan
area which consists of two classrooms and an enclosed outdoor area. In Early
Years and in Key Stage One, class sizes will not exceed thirty pupils.
We always try to provide each of our pupils, whatever their ability, with the best
opportunities to develop their talents fully.
Our Academy Vision is; “Landau Forte Academy Greenacres is aiming to promote
values and principles such as a love of school and learning, confidence, positive
self-esteem and respect, which we believe will raise standards in the long term
and create citizens of the future”.

Landau Forte Academy Greenacres Prospectus
At our Academy we aim to provide an education that stimulates children’s curiosity
about the world around them, which challenges them to ask how, why and what things
are. We aim to make the children’s learning relevant to their lives in today’s world and
introduce them to a wide range of learning experiences.
Each child is valued as an individual. We cater for their differing rates of development
and look for progression in the learning of every child, encouraging everyone to reach
their full potential. Extra support is given to any child not attaining an appropriate level
of learning. The basic skills of literacy and numeracy are vital and we place a strong
emphasis on the development and use of these skills throughout the Academy. Much
of the children’s learning is delivered through a cross-curricular topic based approach.
The topics are carefully planned to ensure that pupils cover all areas of the National
Curriculum at an appropriate level.
