Year 3 had a wonderful Spring term, working hard on the DT based Wonka’s Wonderful Wishes. The children experimented with different combinations of ingredients to create their own healthy snack for Wonka, with varying degrees of success! They then made packaging for their snack. This was more successful, with the majority of children liking the package they had created, but having learnt lots along the way.
This term we have continued to learn about the Rainforests. The projects the children created have been fantastic, and they are really enjoying talking to the class about what they did and learned by doing it, so well done mums and dads too! We have a trip to the Botanical Gardens to look forward to later on in the term, where we will explore some rainforest plants and animals! The final topic we will study will be our local area, including learning mapping and researching skills, as well as undertaking some fieldwork to find out more about the place in which we are located.
3H have been enjoying their swimming lessons and are making good progress in confidence and skills within the water, whilst both classes have been wowing everyone with their new-found violin playing skills. The children are looking forward to being able to share these with parents and children from other local schools in a concert held at the Coton Centre later on in the term.
Please help your child continue their learning at home. Whilst we fully understand busy family life, everything you do with your child is beneficial to them. We would hope as a minimum each child is reading with an adult at least 5 times a week, completing their literacy and numeracy homework on time, practising their spellings and learning their times tables.
