We have lots of exciting things happening this term!
In English we have been reading and writing about Jack and the Beanstalk in preparation for our trip to the Panto. Next, we will be looking at different fairytales, including The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
In Science, we are just starting our ‘materials’ topic. We will be naming a variety of everyday materials, finding out which materials are waterproof and discovering if materials are transparent or opaque.
In Art, we are learning about sculptures. In DT, we are learning about food and nutrition. We will be making rainbow wraps, crudités and vegetable kebabs.
Children should continue to read at home to an adult at least 5 times per week. Each parent signature in the diary counts as one step up the reading ladder and counts towards our class reading percentage each week. Children will continue to read a range of genres to earn their silver reading band which needs to be completed by the Easter holidays (please ask your child’s class teacher for further information or support with this).
Please remember to keep practising spellings each week.
