Year 6 had a very busy first term. In school we have been working hard to continue to meet the challenging expectations for all Year 6 pupils across the country in reading, writing, grammar and maths.
This term in geography, we will study natural phenomena such as earthquakes, mountains and volcanoes. In history, we will be focusing on World War 2 and look at how the conflict changed our local area.
In English, we are reading “Kensuke’s Kingdom” by Michael Morpurgo and imagining what it might be like to be stranded on a desert island. What are the arguments for and against sailing off around the world and leaving your normal, everyday life behind?
PE will continue to be held on Thursdays so please ensure that your child has an appropriate PE kit to wear to school.
Please continue to support your child’s reading, spellings and times tables at home: it really does make a huge difference to their progress.
