Year 6 have a very busy final term which we are completing at Landau Forte Academy Amington. We are settling in to our new routines and are very grateful to the team here who have welcomed us all. The term starts with the focus being on final assessments in Maths, Grammar and Reading as well as continuing to work towards a collection of writing in different genres which will form the basis of a writing level.
Our topic of “Lights, Camera, Action!” continues as we focus on how films are made. There will be a particular emphasis on Harry Potter with a trip to the Warner Brothers Studio in Watford. We will be learning about films, the treatment of film stars and how film-makers think carefully about costumes and set design.
We will be continuing our learning about World War 2 and finding out what life was like in our local area during the 1940s.
At the end of this term, the Year 6 pupils will be celebrating together and sharing their memories of primary school before saying goodbye to everyone and moving onto high school.
