Dear all,
As you may know there has been considerable public discussion around the planned reopening of schools over the coming weeks.
At present I can confirm that we will not be opening our academies beyond key worked and vulnerable students on 1 June. We are still working on a plan for a wider opening of our schools, and this is likely to be from the 15th June. This is not a decision that we have taken lightly, but our priority is the careful management of any risk to our staff and students.
We will use the utmost caution when reopening schools to ensure appropriate safety measures are in place for all students and staff. We are expecting to receive more information over the coming days and this will feed into any and all decisions that we take. We will send out clear information for all families and staff ahead of reopening our schools to ensure that our new procedures are clearly understood.
In the meantime we will continue to keep our schools open to care for vulnerable students and the children of key workers. We will also continue to provide school work for students who are learning from home and we will do whatever we can to ensure their home learning is of the highest possible standard.
I would like to thank you all for your help in ensuring our students can continue to learn from home. These are unprecedented times, but I am heartened by how Landau Forte staff, students and their families have come together as a community and risen to the occasion. Although there are challenges ahead, I have the utmost confidence in our ability to take these on and overcome them.
Your Principal will be in touch shortly with more information on when and how we will reopen our schools.
Yours sincerely,
Sarah Findlay-Cobb
